Brigitte Schellens (53) makes colourful paintings of mostly women and animals. She wants to celebrate the beautiful things in life, and give expression to her love for animals.
She did a propaedeutic year at the art college in Utrecht, then switched to Design and Communication in Rotterdam (Holland).
She works mainly as a graphic designer, while painting autonomous work as well.
Being a graphic designer she is used to working with the five basic print colours: magenta, cyaan, yellow, black and white. She mixes her colours out of these basic ones, which results in a typical colour use.
